Fall Dating Ideas

Fall is in the air, which means the days are getting shorter and the length of a woman’s skirt is getting longer. Before you get depressed and retreat indoors to your couch and a box of pizza, consider how cozy and sweet this new season could be when it comes to romancing the new (or not so new) lady in your life.

Personally, I find autumn to be my favourite time of year. The cool air is great for cuddling, the colorful foliage is a beautiful backdrop for a date, and then there’s the feeling of newness and change in the air that breathes fresh air into any and all situations. So don’t be a dud when it comes to the cooler season. Instead, heat up your love life with these five awesome dating ideas for fall.

Football Game

Football games make great dates, especially first dates. There’s pageantry, excitement, and foot-longs, and beer—what’s not to love? Even if your gal isn’t a huge football fan, chances are that she’ll enjoy herself at the game thanks to the crowd, the chants, and, of course, the tight pants on the players (you’ll dig the cheerleaders, so it’s all good). Plus, you’ll also get some side-by-side sitting action (perfect for the old “yawn and stretch”) and you can easily have some good convos between plays.

Take a Drive to the Country

The rich colours of fall—reds, oranges and yellows—are what help make it so special. Unfortunately, the city really doesn’t do the season’s foliage justice, so jump in the car (or rent one) and head east to Prince Edward County, or west to Niagara-on-the-Lake, and take in the unfolding splendor. Take a rest stop to grab a bite to eat, do some antiquing and/or a wine tasting, and really make a day of it.

Get Scared

Research shows that when you get scared, the chemical dopamine is released which basically makes you more attached and attracted to the person you’re with. If that’s not reason enough to go to Screemers or check out one of those haunted houses in Niagara Falls, then I don’t know what will. Besides, who doesn’t want to play the part of her knight-in-shining-armour when a scary zombie jumps out and she’ll need someone to hold onto? Don’t be a dummy and go see that mummy.

Take a Walk in the Park

If you want to stay closer to home, pack a thermos picnic and visit your local park. What’s a thermos picnic? Well, basically anything you can think that would fit into a thermos: soup, hot chocolate, coffee, oatmeal, gravy(?). Afterwards, toss around the pig skin or act like a kid again and play in the leaves.

Cuddling At Home

The best thing about fall is the cold weather because cold weather = cuddling season. Invite your girl over to your place and make your own hot apple cider (booze it up, if you’d like) and roast pumpkin seeds. Then, grab a few blankets, load up your fave Netflix shows and get reading for some serious snuggling. You’ll never want to leave the house again.
