3 Underrated Accessories (That the Ladies Love)

It’s the small things that count. Even the smallest addition to an outfit can make the biggest statement, especially when you are trying to attract a member of the opposite sex.

In the words of ZZ Top, “Every girl crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man.” Here are some underrated accessories the ladies especially love.

Let your tie lose a few pounds
Although ties never go out of style, I say the skinnier the better! Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling have been seen sporting a skinny tie, so why shouldn’t you? A skinny tie can make a fashion statement most ladies cannot resist. What makes the skinny version of the tie underrated is most men don’t want to experiment with a smaller version of the classic look. Take my advice; let your tie get thin.

Picking up a classic skinny tie is very simple; stores like Banana Republic and Le Chateau now carry them. For a man who doesn’t want to shell out designer prices, stores like ASOS carry a variety of reasonably priced ties in many colours. I recommend you stock up.

Start from the top
Often underrated, the hat is a great addition to any closet. Not only does this accessory keep your head toasty warm in the winter and shade your face from harmful rays in the summer, the hat is a very lady friendly accessory.

While everyday style in the 50’s, recently hats have seen a drop in popularity among men, which is a shame because ladies swoon over a sharply dressed man in a hat. Worn correctly, the hat can be used as a tool for seduction, or at very least a conversation starter.

Investing in a variety of styles and colours can fix a bad hair day in seconds and make quite a fashion statement. Summer fedoras are always a must have, Banana Republic has a stylish fedora for ($55.00), it can be paired with a suit to jazz up any occasion. Although commonly worn in winter and fall, a lightweight oversized beanie from ASOS ($10.44) is a simple but effective accessory.

Embrace your inner nerd
You may think you look just like Buddy Holly, but nothing makes a man look more intelligent than a pair of black thick rimmed glasses. Yes, this accessory is aimed towards people who lack 20/20 vision but you could always invest in a fake pair (it can be our little secret). Ladies love a nerd, or at least a well-dressed man with glasses.

If you will be using these for more than just a fashion statement, Ray-Ban offers a selection of well-made glasses. For a less durable more affordable option, we recommend stores like Urban Outfitters and Top Shop to bring out the Poindexter in you.
