Thirty three people have been killed in car accidents the first two months of the year, but that didn’t stopping the Dubai police force from buying a $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador. The supercar is capable of speeds of 350 km/h, and twitter feeds across the UAE are lighting up with pictures Dubai’s latest police car in action.
However, “Action” in this case primarily means hanging out in tourist spots, as Dubai’s deputy police director has said that the car is mainly to show tourists (and potential tourists, one presumes) “how classy Dubai is.”
Of course, before you accuse Dubai of learning all the wrong lessons from Magnum, P.I. (which, in case you’ve made good decisions in your life, was a TV show about a private investigator who used a Ferrari 308 GTS), recall that Lamborghini’s are also used by police forces in Qatar, Italy, Panama, and the UK.
