Kaleidoscopic Mirrored Cities

The first time we saw an experimental video, it was just some film school jerks shooting in black and white and reading bad poetry, and we bet your first exposure to video art was something like that too.

It’s too bad that we didn’t come across California-based photographer Michael Shainblum first. He’s taken time-lapse footage of San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas and used mirror effects to create trippy geometric patterns of urban life. See, angsty hipsters? That’s how you make video art.
