Pacific Rim isn’t a great film. It’s basically just giant robots and monsters fighting each other and destroying entire cities as they did, and that’s why we loved it. In fact, if it had more giant monsters and robots fighting and fewer minutes explaining why, we would’ve loved it more.
Anyway, since Pacific Rim is basically a tribute to Toho, the production company who makes Godzilla and an entire lucrative stable of other inexplicable monsters, some fans decided to make a Pacific Rim trailer in the style of the old light-hearted Godzilla one—which is interesting, because the next Godzilla move, set for 2014, doesn’t sound that light-hearted at all.
