Sharon Osbourne revealed some intimate details about Ozzy’s sexual affairs during a recent interview with The Telegraph. She explained that the 68-year-old singer cheated on her with six separate women, including a teenager and some of their employees.
The Talk host said, “There wasn’t just one woman; there were six of them. Some f—ing Russian teenager … then a masseuse in England … our masseuse out here [in Los Angeles] … and then our cook.”
In early 2016, the couple made headlines after Ozzy’s affair with celebrity hair stylist Michelle Pugh was made public. Pugh became his mistress when she first started working on the rocker’s hair in 2011. They were together for four years.
Sharon, 64, opened up to The Telegraph about how she learned of the betrayal: “We were sitting on the couch watching the telly. Ozzy on one couch and me on the other, and suddenly, he sends me this email. ‘Why did you send me this stupid email?’ I asked, and when Ozzy told me that he hadn’t sent me anything, I grabbed his phone and said, ‘Look!’ And of course, it was a message meant for one of his bloody women.”
Sharon was in disbelief when she discovered that the Black Sabbath singer had carried on a relationship with Pugh for so long: “When I found out about the hairdresser, I couldn’t believe it. Because none of these women were show ponies; he was doing it to fill the void in some way.”
For Pugh, it was more than just an illicit affair. It was love. She told PEOPLE at the time: “What attracted me to him? Chemistry. We just had it. It’s that indescribable thing in life, and you can’t deny it. And he didn’t.”
Ozzy claimed the affair was a result of his sex addiction. His rep told PEOPLE: “He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context. He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy.”
Ozzy and Sharon started dating in 1979, and they have three children. The couple has had a volatile relationship. In 1989, the singer was arrested for attempting to strangle Sharon to death while high on drugs and alcohol. During another fight, he knocked out her front teeth.
The couple split in May 2016 when Sharon learned of his affair with Pugh. Despite the abuse and infidelities, she endured over the years, Sharon decided she wanted to keep Ozzy in her life. They reconciled the following September, and in May 2017 renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas.
While chatting with her The Talk co-host Julie Chen, Sharon explained how after over 33 years of marriage, she didn’t want to give up on the love they shared: “He was trying so hard to be a better person — desperately trying, working his program, working with his therapist every day and trying so hard. I just had a newfound love. And I respected him because he’s seriously trying to be a better person.”
