The Waldorf Hotel made East Vancouver something of a destination, which, to anyone acquainted with East Vancouver, is impressive. However, it was never enough of a destination to pay the rent. With East Vancouver now a sort-of destination, developers want in, and the Waldorf Hotel sits on somewhat prime real estate. Due to rent problems, as well as painting an attractive target on their backs, Waldorf Hotel will be closing shortly. Since this is Vancouver, of course there’s a petition.
