Along with Doom, Wolfenstein is one of the grandparents of the first-person shooter genre, so it’s about time that the series gets a reimagining. We assume that’s like a reboot.
Either way, Wolfenstein: The New World Order is slated for release in the fourth quarter and will involve killing Nazis, infiltrating their fortresses, and commandeering their super weapons in an alternative 1960s. Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PCs will all be supported, as will “next generation consoles”.
Bethesda is the publisher of this action-adventure shooter, with Machine Games taking the developer role. We can only hope that they’ll save us from the tyranny of chest-high walls.
