Mixologist: Dry Rye Manhattan

Ever thought a Manhattan could stand to be less viscous and . . . well . . . drier? Like a martini? Well, it’s your lucky day. To keep things even drier, reduce your squirt of simple syrup to a spot.


1.5 oz. Canadian Club 100% Rye
.5 oz. dry vermouth
1 heavy dash Angostura bitters
Squirt simple syrup


Stir all ingredients together with cracked ice. Pour into a cocktail glass over fresh ice. Zest lemon over the ice, then garnish with lemon peel.
