Mixologist: Royal Highness

Full disclosure: we aren’t glued to the TV screen, awaiting the birth of our future monarch. That said, we do enjoy both toasts and cocktails, so we’re celebrating with the Royal Highness. We’re using Beefeater for the gin, because it’s quintessentially British, and the champagne we’re using is Perrier Jouët Grand Brut, a long time favourite of European royalty.

For the republican version of this drink, throw a bunch of tea into the ocean and be sure to throw a fit every time someone mentions the Queen.

Ingredients

1 oz. Beefeater 24
1 oz. Crème de Cassis
.75 oz. fresh lemon juice
Perrier Jouët Grand Brut Champagne

Directions

Pour gin, Crème de Cassis, and lemon juice into an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously, then strain into a champagne flute. Top up with champagne.
