Pop culture writers have been promoting the idea that 30 is the new 20 ever since the recession hit. They write that your 20s are becoming a kind of limbo and that your 20s are kind of a kiss-off. Entire books have been written about a kind of Peter Pan generation that just won’t grow up.
Well, that’s all nonsense, according to clinical psychologist Meg Jay. Just because you’re putting off marriage, buying a house, having children, and all the other traditional marks of adulthood doesn’t mean that your 20s are a throwaway decade. So put on a suit and get busy.
