This is what happened: Piers Morgan made fun of some English cricket players for being scared of pitches or something—and keep in mind, some cricket pitchers (or bowlers, or chazwozzers, or whatever) can throw at over 100mph, and they’re allowed to throw at batters on purpose.
Anyway, because the universe is hilarious, an Aussie bowler named Brett Lee challenged Piers to stand up to a barrage of cricket balls, and Piers took the bait. Then he got hit five times. And then he fractured a rib. And then Americans wondered how they got stuck with this smug jerk on CNN, especially when they already have Nancy Grace to fulfil that role.
