Meet Tom Grosset, Canadian and newly-minted world record holder, courtesy of Guiness. Grosset is the world’s fastest drummer, having clocked 1,208 beats in sixty seconds—which is a dizzying twenty beats per second.
The last record for world’s fastest drummer was set in 2003, by the drummer for friggin’ Dream Theatre, Mike Mangini. There’s no word yet on whether Mangini will challenge Grosset to a drum duel, or possibly a fight with broadswords, which is what we’d expect from a progressive metal band.
