Gigantic Brewing To Offer 666 Cases Of Hellboy Beer

Oregon’s Gigantic Brewing is partnering with Dark Horse Comics to produce six exclusive brews to celebrate the birthday of the half-demon character Hellboy. Mike Mignola published Hellboy: Seed of Destruction 25 years ago.

The flavours will be inspired by fan-favourite characters, and each beer will have a limited run of 666 cases. Each flavour will be released every seven weeks or so. The first flavour, Hellboy, will be released in March before Hellboy Day, which is celebrated on March 23. The beer will feature a maple syrup pancake profile.

Subsequent releases include Liz Sherman (mole chilli stout), Johann Kraus (citrus with beer), Abe Sapien (indigo blue fruit ale), Blood Queen (cranberry yuzu sour), and Trevor Bruttenholm (British barleywine).

Every beer except the Trevor Bruttenholm is 6.66% ABV. Trevor is 9.99%.

Fans who attend Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, Wash., will have the opportunity to taste Hellboy beer during its official release on March 15 in a location yet to be announced.

The beverage will then be available in select U.S. locations. Prints and t-shirts featuring the six Hellboy brews will also be for sale from Gigantic Brewing.

In addition to graphic novels and comic books, Hellboy has been featured in novels, short story collections, animated features, and live-action films. Lionsgate is releasing a reboot of Hellboy on April 12, 2019. It stars David Harbour, Sasha Lane, Ian McShane, Penelope Mitchell, and Milla Jovovich.
