Jackie Chan’s estranged daughter Etta Ng Chok Lam, who goes by the name Etta Ng, claims she is homeless and living under a bridge with her Canadian girlfriend Andi Autumn.
Last week the couple released a video in which Ng blamed her “homophobic parents” for her living situation and explained she was frightened she would be separated from Autumn, reported Fox News.
Chan, 64, has been married to Taiwanese actress Joan Lin Feng-jiao since 1982. He had a brief affair with Elaine Ng Yi-Lei, and their daughter Etta was born in 1999. Chan later referred to the affair as a “serious mistake.” He reportedly gave them financial support for several years but has since cut ties with them.
In the video, Ng, 19, explains: “Hi. I’m Jackie Chan’s daughter, and this is my girlfriend Andi. We’ve been homeless for a month due to homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge and other things.”
She adds that they don’t want to seek help at a shelter in Hong Kong because they’re afraid they will be split apart.
“I’ve asked all my friends for help,” Autumn, a social media influencer, says. “I’ve asked all my family for help. Everyone just keeps sending us to the directions of shelters, where they know we will be split up.”
Ng goes on, “I don’t even understand. We’ve gone to the police, we’ve gone to the hospital, the food banks, LGBTQ community shelters and all of them just don’t give a s—. Two people in love that share love are trying not to get split apart and they’re trying to f— us over just because – I don’t understand it – I love her.”
In the caption, the couple asks viewers to repost the video clip to make others aware of their situation. They write: “At this point, we have nowhere to go because the friend of Andi’s that is helping, can no longer house us. We understand people who are busy but this is a bit much. And now I can only turn to the Internet for help as there is strength in numbers.
“We don’t know the next time we will have Internet access so we might be off the grid for a while. All I know is that our love is stronger than this but we are getting tired of it. No one we know, family, friend or government services will help.”
Over 326,000 people have viewed the video.
In 2015, Ng said she had “no feelings” for Chan, according to the U.K.’s Express. She said: “He is my biological father, but he is not in my life.”
She added, “He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father. I would not say that he is my dad. I would say, ‘Oh, Jackie Chan, an actor.’”
Ng opened up publicly about being a lesbian in 2017 through several posts on Instagram. Her admission about her sexuality reportedly caused a rift between her and her mother. Ng eventually dropped out of school and left home to live with Autumn.
