Neiman Marcus Releases Fantasy Gift Guide For The Super Rich

Not sure what to get your loved one for Christmas? How about a multi-million-dollar yacht, a top-secret espionage experience or a giant bronze sculpture of your favourite animal?

If you have the money to spend, Neiman Marcus has the gifts to provide. The luxury department store has released its annual holiday list of outrageous fantasy presents for the man (or woman) who has everything.

The list makes headlines every year for its over-the-top suggestions, and 2018 is no different. The good news is that a percentage of the proceeds is donated to The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, which supports student arts and other projects.

Check out some of this year’s most outrageous gifts…

The 74-foot yacht is solar powered and sleeps 12. It includes a fully functional kitchen and state-of-the-art music and entertainment system. The lucky recipient will also be treated to a Neiman Marcus shopping spree before taking to the water. The cost? $7.1 million.

If you love to travel, consider a 30-day adventure to India, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives on a private jet. Accommodations will be five star and include private lodges and high-end glamping during the safari portions of the trip. Cruise the islands on a yacht and tour the Himalayas on a helicopter. The tour is geared towards wellness, so it will also include time with monks, Hindu priests and yoga masters. The gift costs $630,000.

One of the more interesting experiences on the list is a three-day, two-night secret agent adventure. If you know someone who loves James Bond and the world of espionage, this is the perfect gift. It starts with a flight to Las Vegas on a private jet. Up to four guests will be greeted by a mystery man in a tuxedo, who doles out a top-secret mission that includes jumping out of airplanes, driving supercars, and being escorted by retired special ops members. You can have this trip for $315,000.

Art lovers may enjoy a custom sculpture by Danish artist Bjorn Okholm Skaarup, who created the 15-foot bronze hippo wearing a tutu that was once displayed at Lincoln Center in the Big Apple. The gift recipient will fly to Florence, Italy, to meet Skaarup at his foundry. The artist will then create a sculpture of your favourite pet or another animal of choice. The cost is at least $200,000, depending on the size of the art piece.

Candy lovers will get a sugar high with the $325,000 Sugarfina package. The excursion includes a stay for up to four people at a first-class resort on the Italian Riviera and a visit to the candy factory in Genoa. In addition to making their own custom candy, recipients will receive candy shipments for up to three years.

Academy-Award winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, known for films such as Alice Through the Looking Glass and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will design a custom outfit for one lucky person. The package also includes lunch and swag. There’s also a possibility to see the set of whatever project she’s currently working on. The price? $300,000.

Tennis fans will get a chance to square off against Sloane Stephens, the winner of last year’s U.S. Open, in a 45-minute match. The recipient will also attend the four Grand Slam events with Stephens, travelling to Paris, London, New York, and Melbourne. It costs $555,000.

Finally, there’s the “ultimate clubhouse.” For just $250,000 you can get a customized backyard retreat intended for “self-care, alone time, reflection, meditation, pampering, and centring.”
