Let’s file this with the short list of Bluetooth devices we’d actually use. The Bluetooth BBQ Thermometer ($80) is exactly what it sounds like: a thermometer that you tether to your smartphone (all iDevices and most Android). The thermometer works as a stand-alone thermometer and has two prongs for those of us who like to cook multiple meats, i.e., all of us. The data is then sent to your smartphone, up to 200 feet away, thus allowing you to throw meat on the smoker and just walk away.
It has a bunch of other features, like recipe sharing, Pinterest integration, and temperature graphing, but we’ll just stick to the less obsessive aspects, thanks.
