You may think that pool is all about hustling and loud disagreements over the rules, but something bigger is going on: geometry. That’s right, the slightest shift of your stick changes the angles you’re creating.
To demonstrate, some students from the University of Algrave in Portugal have created PoolLiveAide, a system that demonstrates the path of the projected shot, much like a video game. Will it be commercialized? It’s too early to say, although we could use a few days of practice on it before we challenge that old biker who’s always taking our money.
