Review: Lifeworks Shoulder Bag

We spent the summer travelling, and we did it armed with a shoulder bag from Lifeworks ($60). It comes in tan and cameo, but we went with a classic black. Here’s how it went down:

What We Liked

Lots of space: There the de rigueur laptop sleeve, an additional tablet sleeve, a front pocket with a bunch of organizing slots, and a series of rings on the front for pens or cords.

Secret sleeve: There’s a ‘secret’ sleeve on the back and blends in with the padding; perfect for either hiding valuables from sticky fingers or chocolate from a prying spouse.

Padding everywhere: Speaking of padding, there’s a neoprene back and handles for your comfort.

Roller suitcase compatible: the back of our Lifeworks bag has an opening at the top and bottom that lets it slide over the handle of our roller suitcase. Easily the most convenient thing when traversing a busy airport.

What We Didn’t

Not a look for everyone: If you’re a student, in tech, or, say, a writer, the ribstop and brushed cordura fabric will suit you just fine. If you’re wearing a three-piece suit on the airplane, maybe you want something in leather.

Bottom Line

At $60, this bag is great value for the young professional. There’s a tremendous amount of practicality in the design, and the limited warrantee just sweetens the deal.
