1956 Austin-Healey 100M ‘Factory’ Le Mans

A few thousand Austin-Healey 100Ms were built, but only 640 were fitted with the ‘Le Mans’ package, thus making this car a 1956 Austin-Healey 100M ‘Factory’ Le Mans. What does that mean, especially for a car that set a number of speed records?
