Batman: Arkham Origins

Warner Bros. incredible Arkham trilogy is coming to a close, and it looks like Batman: Arkham Origins is the game we deserve, but not the game we need . . . until October 25. Then we need it. And a day or two off work.

Set several years before Arkham Aslylum, Origins will take place in the middle of winter, at Christmastime, in a thematic juxtaposition that hearkens back to Tim Burton’a take on the character, albeit with less whimsy. Art direct Jeremy Price is making a lot of use of low-key, film noir style lighting and design, which is how we like Batman the most.

In terms of a storyline, Black Mask has contracted eight assassins to hit Batman in a single night. So far, the cast includes Deathstroke, Alberto Falcone, Penguin, and Jim Gordon. Joker’s in it too, but sadly, Mark Hamill won’t be reprising that role.
