Juno Build-Up in Calgary

The Juno Awards are set for the first week of April, right here in Cowtown, but why wait until April to get into the Canadian music scene? Check out some of Calgary’s March music scene, a forerunner to the (albeit Canadian) glitz n’ glam of the Junos’ red carpet.

Matt Masters 30-Day Challenge
Masters, a country and western singer, kicks off the March Music Series by playing 30 live shows in 30 days, challenging other local artists to do the same to promote Calgary’s local music scene.

Spring Break DJ Circuit
Our search for good DJs spinning their best mixes and tracks has ended with the arrival of the Spring Break DJ Circuit being held at various venues around the city, including the Drum and Monkey and Broken City.

Music Lives Here Workshops
These include tips for budding and established artists alike on how to do things like write effective press releases and obtain Calgary Arts Development funding for their projects.

Local Artists Playing Local Pubs
Check out winning singer/songwriter, Danielle French’s Saturday afternoon jams at the Ship and Anchor on March 22.
