Recurring Developments

Know what made Arrested Development a fantastic comedy, aside from incredible performances, convoluted but clever plots, and shameless wordplay? Recurring gags.

Of course, it’s been awhile (seven years; yeah, smooth, Fox), so, how can you get all caught up with all the show’s running gags before season four airs on May 26? Well, you can check out Recurring Developments, a site that helpfully tracks each instance of a recurring joke over all three seasons. George Senior obviously likes prison? Nine episodes. The chicken dance? Seven episodes. Lucille says something racist? Surprisingly, only eleven episodes.

Ideally, we’d also get into the spirit of things by visiting Bluth’s Frozen Banana Stand, but so far only New York has one. None for Toronto? C’mon!
