Okay, let’s get this out of the way: some like it hot. There, we said it.
Specifically, according to a study published in Physiology and Behaviour, men with more testosterone like spicy food more than men with less testosterone. Researchers had 114 men tested for levels of testosterone, then had them sit down for a meal of mashed potatoes (hey, sign us up!). Hot sauce was on the tables, and men with higher levels of testosterone tended to use more of it than men with less testosterone.
Before you go and start putting hot sauce on everything in sight, keep in mind that the relationship between the two this is not understood. That said, ordering some extra Piri Piri couldn’t hurt.
