Mixologist: 2 Scotch Rob Roy

What’s better than a scotch? How about two scotches?

The Rob Roy is actually a pretty old drink, tracing it’s origin back to 1894 at New York’s Waldorf Astoria, where it was created to celebrate the premier of the operetta Rob Roy. Basically it’s a Manhattan scotch instead of rye. So a Rob Roy. Get it?

Ingredients

.5 oz. Laphroaig Quarter Cask
1.5 oz. Highland Park 12 YO
.75 oz. vermouth
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Cocktail cherry for garnish

Directions

Fill a Boston shaker with ice. Add spirits and bitters. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with cherry.
