Mixologist: The Dobel Maestro

No getting around it: this drink is a little hot. Capsaicin hot. We said to garnish with a red chile, but if you want it mild, use a banana pepper. If you want medium heat, use a Serrano. Hot? Bird’s eye or habanero. Melt-your-face hot? Find some ghost peppers.

Ingredients

2 oz. Maestro Dobel tequila
½ oz. agave syrup
½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
5 mint leaves
5 drops chile bitters
Soda to top
1 red chile

Directions

Add tequila, agave sryup, lime, three mint leaves, and bitters in a shaker, muddle, and then shake. Fine strain into a tall ice filled glass, top with soda water, and garnish with remaining mint leaves and a thin chile slice.
