Montreal’s Best New Year’s Eve Parties

There’s always pressure to party hard into the New Year; with a new decade nigh, the pressure is all the more intense. Don’t blow it. Here, a few choice parties.

The Boutique Hotel Party
Glam Society takes over the W Hotel, with DJs Evalicious, Sandy Duperval, Plastik Patrik and Christian Pronovost offering a range of sounds, so you can dance off the decadent meal in your belly. 9 p.m., 901 Victoria Square, 514-395-3100. $95; $150 with dinner; $910 for table of up to six.

The Loft Party
The focus is on gourmet eats and epic beats at this Park Ex loft party, which runs until 11 a.m. Expect wild game, seafood, Asian delicacies, banana splits and an open bar, while DJ B’ugo, My Favorite Robot and Soundshaper man the decks. Dance Party
Shock 2010 brings the synth-funk and electro boogie of Tony Ezzy and the Masters of the Universe, supported by Ninja Tune DJs Tashish, Kobal and Moonstarr. 10 p.m., Il Motore, 179 Jean-Talon St. W., $20.

The Circus Party
Inspired by burlesque, trapeze, circus and carnival performers, the folks behind the Cirque de Boudoir parties promise a spectacular NYE bash, featuring open bar until 11 p.m., free body painting, costume prizes, tunes care of DJs Mini (pictured above), Davidé, Mary Hell, Frigid and Jonnybonnyrock, and visuals by VJ Bunnyguts. 9 p.m., Théâtre Plaza, 6505 St. Hubert St., $50.
