The Johnnie Walker Embassy

Poor Canada. Sure, we get a lovely visit from the Johnnie Walker ambassador every now and again, but we’re nowhere near as big a market as China. In fact, China’s Scotch market is so huge that the Wall Street Journal is reporting a bubble.

Bubble or no, Beijing is now home to a new “whisky embassy” — a luxury boutique, private club, artistic space, museum and Scotch shrine all rolled into one.

The way we calculate it, Canadians just need to drink two or three more bottles of Scotch per person per year before we get our own awesome Scotch embassy, so let’s pull together. Your country needs you.
