Following up on their What 2000 Calories Looks Like video, Buzzfeed wants us to know how much food you’ll get for $5 around the world; perhaps they’re taking a page out of The Economist’s Big Mac Index.
There aren’t many conclusions respecting Canada (except that we’re getting hosed on eggs, dammit), but the facts are pretty interesting. Why is beef so cheap in the UK? Is it because no one wants it for fear of madness? Is it because they’re buffing it out with horsemeat?
Incidentally, don’t begrudge the Chinese their cheap beer. It’s filled with formaldehyde.
