Calgary’s Best Bowling Alleys

Any sport where you can have a beer in one hand and a ball in another is a definite win. Bowling is one of those old-timey pastimes that’s still outrageously fun, so get your split, spare or strike at any of Calgary’s best bowling alleys and feel like the ultimate kingpin.

Mountain View Bowling
Known for its retro ’50s vibe, this southwest alley has lanes for both five and 10-pin bowling. There’s a diner-style eating area, free WiFi and Toonie bowling on Tuesday nights. 11, 3919 Richmond Rd. SW, 403-249-0858.

Chinook Bowladrome
In the bowels of Chinook Centre, this massive 32-lane joint is a popular place for both high-profile tournaments and public bowling nights. An automatic electronic scoring display makes your five-pin strikes easy to track; at night, disco lights pulse and Top 40 music plays. Chinook Centre, 6455 MacLeod Tr. S., 403-252-5747.

Let’s Bowl
Amateurs and hardcore leaguers alike pack this northeast alley’s 30 lanes. It’s one of the few 10-pin only bowling spots in the city and the black light makes for a psychedelic rolling experience. You can make lane reservations but after 7 p.m., it’s first come, first served. 2916 5 Ave. NE, 403-569-2695.

Paradise Lanes
