Quicksand occurs anywhere there’s lots of sand and lots of water; essentially, if there’s enough water in the sand, the sand acts as a liquid. Rivers, lakes, springs, marshes, and coastal areas—which Canada has no shortage of—are prime spots for quicksand.
Of course, standing around and letting yourself sink is what’ll get you into trouble in the first place.
