The infamous closing party for the ski and snowboard season at Banff’s Sunshine Mountain, The Slush Cup, is fast approaching. Held on Monday May 19, an estimated 6,000 spectators will converge on the mountain for the hill’s annual beach party. Extend your long weekend by a day or two so you can join in on welcoming spring Sunshine-style by becoming one of the Cup’s competitors.
Cup Lowdown: Ski or board down Pandemonium Run and jump into a frigid pool of slush.
The Goal: Attempt to make it across the entire pool of really, really cold slush.
Dress Code: Costume; no wimping out.
Scoring: Whether you make it across the pool or not, you will be scored by a panel of judges and the crowd for the potential of winning a prize for the categories of Awesome Air, Best Bellyflop and Excellent Enema.
