Sponsored: How to Travel Faster, Better

Addicted to travel? Us too, and although it may not be the most cost-effective addiction we’ve found a couple ways to help Canadians travel faster, better and easier. Throughout the past six months I have been using my Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express for my day-to-day purchases and trips to help rack up Starpoints and get me to my dream destinations faster. Looking for tips to rack up your points? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered.

1) Maximize your benefits. Getting points is simple: spend a dollar, get a point, right? Yeah, but you can pick up bonuses too. Many Starwood hotels offer special discounts and rewards available on each property’s individual website. I can use my SPG Amex Card to book concerts before everyone else with Front Of The Line, redeem Starpoints with over thirty airlines, and bid on cool experiences that no one else gets through Moments (Road trip to watch the Chicago Cubs at spring training, anyone?).

2) Collect your bonuses. Have you just acquired a Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express? You get 20,000 Starpoints once you spend your first $500. You can also pick up 5,000 Starpoints when you transfer 20,000 to a frequent flyer program. Oh, and you can earn a bonus 10,000 Starpoints when you refer a friend—and your friend will get bonus 21,000 Starpoints once they spend $500 on the card!

3) Book all your travel with your card. Travel a lot for business? Here’s what you do: tell your company that you’ll arrange your flight and hotel bookings yourself, book everything using your SPG Amex Card, keep your receipts for reimbursement, and have the company pay for the trip while you reap the rewards.

There you have it, an easy way to get to your dream destination or dream trip faster; enjoy your travels!
