Hostem is a newer kid in London, quietly positioned in gentrified Shoreditch. The brand is not a design house, but a retail establishment that addresses the “fashion literate” male consumer who has a sense of élan. To do this, Hostem created an in-house look book to catalogue the brands they carry and the result is a Francis Bacon-esque portrayal of the male form that – much like Bacon’s work – is darkly evocative.
The clothing included in the shoot from Hostem’s fall/winter stock are pieces by Ann Demeulemeester, Casely-Hayford, Damir Doma, Julius, Rick Owens, visvim and Viridi-Anne
