Unless you’re a member of a profession that requires intimate knowledge of firearms, identifying the subjects of Los Angeles photographer Sabine Pearlman’s latest work is next to impossible. She’s taken pictures of the cross-sections of over 900 rounds of ammunition, and she’s left them unlabelled on purpose.
On the one hand, we’re impressed with the ingenuity of the engineering and manufacturing that goes into this stuff. On the other, it’s disturbing how creative we are when it comes to killing—which is probably the point.
