The $49,200 Counter-Strike Map

Remember Diego Laitis and Frédérik Denis, those Montreal designers who made a Counter Strike map of Berri-UQAM station? And then the STM threatened them with a $49,200 fine? Well, they’re not going to back down.

Lawyers from the STM and the designers are meeting now, but aside from changing the STM’s logo and a well-known piece of artwork, Laitis does not want to alter anything.

Laitis also says that Amélie Régis, STM’s media representative, has expressed concerns that potential terrorists would use it to train for an attack. Curiously, she also claims that it would be “insulting” to the Muslim community.
