Nordstrom just opened a new 47,000 square-foot, three-level store for men in New York City between Times Square and Central Park. It features collections by Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Valentino and Dior as well as athletic products from Nike, Adidas, and Champion.
Those who’ve seen the store are impressed by its abundance of friendly employees who are there to greet customers, give directions and help shoppers with whatever they need.
On the first floor, the store contains a great shoe collection, which is a trademark of the retailer. Watch and accessory company Shinola and Bose electronics are featured predominantly in displays. Consumers can find all sorts of tech products, such as headphones and Google Home.
The Levi’s shop will shorten jeans for a mere $10. Le Labo sells one-of-a-kind grooming products. The store also includes up-and-coming retailers such as Greats, reported CNBC. Suits and ties are displayed on the top floor, and shoppers who need a break can stop at the store’s coffee shop or café.
The store, located on 57th Street and Broadway, offers 24/7 merchandise curbside pickup, personal stylists, and same-day delivery for $20.
New York is reportedly Nordstrom’s biggest market for online sales by volume, and menswear accounts for 20 percent of their sales. It’s clear that’s why the company chose the Big Apple to debut its men’s store, which is more high end than its off-price Rack stores already in the city.
“If there’s ever a category to live on its own, its men’s,” Jamie Nordstrom told Forbes. “With this store, we have the opportunity to bring the best of our high to low [assortment] — from Nike to Balenciaga and Van’s to Valentino — to guys … across all ages and walks of life.”
In 2019, Nordstrom will be launching a 320,000-square-foot, full-line department store across the street from the men’s store. There are approximately 370 Nordstrom stores in the United States and Canada.
