Volta Sound Block

Some people love the high-tech kind of speakers (like our recently featured 805 Maserati Editions or Bang and Olufsen’s Beolab 14 speakers). Then there’s the other end of the spectrum: low tech, but nevertheless exotic sound amplifiers (like this one made from an automotive header).

The Volta Sound Block ($190) is in the latter category. It’s a block of northwest alder, sanded and polished, with a couple of magnets to hold a bison horn in place. That’s right: a bison horn. Like any passive sound amplifier, it isn’t suited for outdoors or a party, but it’ll make your den look fairly distinguished.
