Date Night: A Guide to Looking Good for Her

It’s that time again, DATE NIGHT!

This is your chance to impress your significant other with your great personality and charming sense of humour. Well, hopefully.

Don’t worry! Believe it or not, the hard part is over! She actually agreed to go out with you, which means she finds attractive. Now all you have to do is find an outfit to accommodate the date. Here are a few fashion choices to help you look good in any situation.

The First Date

Probably the most difficult of all the date night fashions; the first date is a make-it-or-break-it situation. Chances are you may not know this woman very well, or in the case of a blind date, you’re making a first impression. Nothing says confident and classic like a pair of dark wash denim, button up shirt and blazer combo. Remember this is a first date, not your wedding day, so dressing down is always the best call.

Fashion Tip: Assess the function versus fashion factor—if you are planning a date that requires a lot of movement or energy, a pair of jeans and a button up shirt are not the right choice.

The Creative Date

You have probably been going over every single detail of your creative date, but choosing an outfit that highlights your creative side may be a little more difficult to do.
Believe it or not, the bow tie is back! I suggest pairing it with a button up shirt and a buttoned vest. If you aren’t sold on the bow tie, maybe try a V-neck and jeans paired with a tailored open vest. This’ll give you creative-industry-type look you crave, but ensures that you look like you can still afford a meal.

Fashion Tip: You are dressing head to toe, so do not overlook your shoes; they are one of the most important fashion pieces you own.

The Outdoor Date

The great outdoors gives you amazing views, memorable sunsets, and cascading stars. On the other hand, there are flash floods, smoldering heat, and dirt; not exactly what you want on a date. The challenge with looking good in more rugged conditions is your ability to plan ahead. Check the weather forecast, then double check it, and then choose a look that can mitigate the cruel sting of Mother Nature. Choosing breathable materials can eliminate sweat stains you may be desperately trying to hide from your special someone.

Date Tips: No matter the outcome of the date, remember to always be yourself. Bringing a sense of individuality to your clothing choices can separate you from every other guy she’s been out with.
