Toronto’s Best Mani-Pedi Spots for Guys

Since guys insist on wearing flip-flops and even (ugh) sport sandals, the least they can do is give their feet a tune-up. Save your fellow subwaygoers from looking at your weathered toes with a pedicure from one of these guy friendly places across the city. While you’re at it, splurge on a manicure too — chewed fingernails and gnarled cuticles aren’t a good look, no matter what season.

John Allan’s at The Bay
This sanctuary in the Queen Street location of The Bay is for guys only, so no need to worry about flowery scents and gossip about the latest Bachelorette. The “Full Service” offers a scalp massaging shampoo, conditioning treatment, hot towel, haircut, manicure, shoe-shine and even a beverage. Pedicures are also available. By the time you’re through, you’ll be so relaxed, you won’t even mind holding your girlfriend’s purse while she tries things on.

Mankind Grooming Studio for Men
Another men’s only establishment – complete with enormous television and video games. If you’re feeling ballsy (so to speak), you can even get a “mankini” wax ($50), but unless you plan on sporting a Speedo this summer, skip it and opt for the foot detailing ($30) on the vintage Takara Belmont barber chair.

The Men’s Power Spa
Located close to the Financial District, so you can get a luxurious 45-minute pedicure (complete with nail shaping, cuticle work, callus reduction and massage, $60) while you’re out at that “client lunch.” If you look too happy when you’re back at the office, just say you had a few martinis, though we’re not sure admitting to getting a pedicure would be all that embarrassing.

Windsor Arms Spa
The relaxing and private retreat is quiet enough to enjoy a pedicure or manicure in absolute solitude. Though you can opt for the sport pedicure ($50 for 30 minutes), we recommend splurging on the warm stone pedicure ($75 for 60 minutes). You probably carry just as much tension in your feet as you do your back.

Hammam Spa
The options at this King West spa are numerous — sixteen manicure and pedicure choices in all — but the real selling feature is the Hammam, a steam room based on the Turkish baths.

  1. Great tips. I would also add a trip to Chinatown to the mix. That part of town masters at manicures and the prices can’t be beat. Completely attitude free. Simply sit back and relax.

  2. “Save your fellow subwaygoers from looking at your weathered toes” by never, ever wearing flip-flops on public transit. Bring them in a bag – they come out when the beach towel does.
