Do you often find yourself frantically patting your pockets and taking inventory of your gear when you’re out? Shoot. Where’s my wallet? What have I done with my keys? There’s always that moment of panic when you realize that you’ve lost track of something essential.
Well, here’s a handy checklist to consider the next time you get out of a cab or a ride sharing car. The team over at Uber has published its Lost and Found Index of all the stuff their riders leave behind in cars. I would have thought that umbrellas would top the list – I can never keep one for more than a season – but they don’t crack the top ten.
The 10 things most often left in Uber cars:
- Phones
- Rings
- Keys
- Wallet
- Glasses
- Purses
- License/ID
- Gloves/Glove
- Charger
- Sunglasses
Be extra careful on weekends. Uber says that they get contacted about lost items most frequently on Sundays, Saturdays, and Fridays. (For some reason, Wednesday is the least forgetful day of the week.)
Far less common are the times people forget their cape or live lobster in ride share car, but it does happen. The Lost and Found Index also contains a list of 50 unusual things that Uber passengers have neglected to take with them. Here are just a few.
10 unusual items that people have left behind in their Uber rides:
- A lobster
- Taser
- Vacuum cleaner
- Bag of money
- Wedding outfit
- A smoke machine
- Grill set
- Packet of meat
- A cape
- Nordic walking poles
You can see the full list of 50 over in the Uber Newsroom.
