Steve McQueen’s Last Special Order Porsche

It’s a fact of cool that anytime anything Steve McQueen touched goes up for sale, big bucks will be involved; just look at the time his Bullitt jacket went up for auction.

A 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is nothing to sneeze at all by itself, of course. It can produce 234 horses, has a rare non-intercooled 3.0 litre engine, four speeds, and a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection.

But this was Steve McQueen’s car. Not only is his touch worth something, he modified this 930 in some pretty cool ways. It has a switch on the dash to kill the rear lights (in case he was being chased on Mulholland Drive) and swapped out his 7s and 8s tires for 8s and 9s.

This car is a piece of history, owned by quite possibly the coolest man who ever lived. We envy the man who gets to next turn the key.
