In the 1930’s, colour photography was only just starting to take off, with Kodak’s Kodachrome introduced in 1935. Still, most colour footage from the era has been colourized after the fact.
Not this film, though. Shot by a French tourist in the summer of 1939, this is what New York looked like before Disney took over.
