Actually, Root Beer Float Day was last Saturday. But it’s every day when you’re an adult who gets to drink booze with his root beer. So there.
Sure, you can phone it in with a lump of ice cream and a root beer. But if you really want to make this made-up holiday special, you need alchoholic root beer. With graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. So you can make a s’more. To use as garnish for your float, of course. Then you can make a dozen more and enjoy.
Ingredients
1 can chilled Mad Jack Premium Hard Root Beer
3 squares chocolate
2 large marshmallows
2 graham crackers
3/4 cup vanilla ice cream
Directions
In small microwave-safe bowl, melt 2 squares of chocolate in microwave. Using brûlée torch or barbecue lighter, torch marshmallows until charred and slightly melted; sandwich with remaining chocolate square between graham crackers.
Pour Mad Jack Premium Hard Root Beer into a tall glass and top with ice cream and graham cracker sandwich. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
Tip: Rim glasses with additional melted chocolate and crushed graham crackers if desired.
Confession: the above image is indeed a press image from the good people at MadJack. Your correspondent made his float with the intention of shooting his own image, but it looked terrible. And someone kept eating the garnish.
