Vancouver’s Best Summer Beers

In B.C., we’re blessed with some of the world’s best microbreweries. In the summertime, they do us proud with refreshing seasonal releases. Here, the best brews to sip this summer.

Hops Circle IPA by Phillips
This crisp and clean Victoria brew landed just in time for summer. With refreshing citrus flavours, the quaffable beer is “hoptimal” for all-day beach drinking. Use the Beer-o-Find to find a store that sells Phillips.

Belgian Wit by Granville Island
Pick up a six-pack of this limited-edition unfiltered wheat ale for the pig roast. Spiced with coriander and orange curaçao this beer is tasty with pork, sweet potato fries and hot summer nights. Available at Granville Island Brewing, 1441 Cartwright St., 604-687-2739.

Garibaldi Honey Pale Ale by Howe Sound
Grab a pot-stopper and get ready to guzzle! Brewed in Squamish with Lillooet honey, this thirst-quencher pairs nicely with spicy food.  Find a store carrying the brew by visiting the website and clicking on About us.

Crooked Coast by Driftwood
Striking a delicate balance between malt and hops, this amber ale is a hit at barbecues and goes well with burgers. Use the Beer Map to track down Driftwood.

Robson Street Hefeweizen by Granville Island
As the name suggests, the brew is best enjoyed on a sunny patio along Robson Street. With its fresh, natural fruit flavour it’s no surprise the Hef is a favourite among Vancouverites. Available at most liquor stores in Vancouver.
