Exercise Helps You Avoid Getting Up to Pee At Night

Want to eliminate nocturia—also known as the need to get up at night to pee, sometimes due to an enlarged prostate? Hit the gym.

Publishing in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, Researchers were looking at a large group of men in a cancer study (28,000 men), and they were finding that many of the men were developing nocturia. They took some data and found that those who were active one or more hours per week were 13% less likely to report nocturia and 34% less likely to report severe nocturia than men who didn’t exercise.

So, if the million other reasons to exercise haven’t convinced you to visit the gym, consider: you won’t have to get up to pee so much.
