A man caught driving under the influence in Pennsylvania did the only thing he could think of, answer to police by quoting two of the most famous boozers of all time.
AP reports that 78 year-old Herbert Goss collided with another car in a parking lot and then did his best Frank Sinatra and Humphrey Bogart impressions.
When police arrived at the scene and questioned Goss, he replied, “Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world,” from Bogart’s Casablanca.
Police say when Goss finally understood he was in trouble, he quoted a line from one of Frank Sinatra’s most famous songs, My Way.
“And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain.”
Goss had trouble standing at the scene and refused a blood test after his arrest, according to the Altoona Mirror. But Goss says he will fight the DUI charges, saying quoting famous movie and song lines is just his regular (and sober) hobby.
But no matter how much of a fan you are of Bogey and Ol’ Blue Eyes, drinking and driving is not cool. Take a lesson from those guys and hire a limo.
