The goal of becoming Professor X and leading the X-Men into battle is becoming closer and closer to reality. There is now a headset that can read your stress, attention levels and even control objects. It is called the Emotiv Insight and it’s passed its Kickstarter goal, and it’s coming to a brain near you.
The Emotiv Insight works by receiving your brainwaves and then translates them into data. Want to now when you’re most happy during the day? You can get a chart showing it was 8:43 A.M. when you nabbed the best parking spot at the office. Curious when you’re most stressed out? There’s scientific proof that its when your in-laws show up every month. You can even strap it on to your toddlers and measure their mental well-being.
The Emotiv Insight also has the ability to recognize basic commands. Once it is hooked up to another device, a wheelchair for example, a person can control said device. In the near future, you could use the device to drive cars, open doors, and mow lawns….with your mind.
The Emotiv Insight is scheduled for release early 2014.
