If you have a beard, you need to take care of that bad boy. The skin underneath needs some moisture, and it doesn’t hurt to give the beard itself a little lustre.
Here’s how we accomplished that this week: Detroit Grooming Co.’s Corktown Beard Oil ($22). Detroit Grooming Co. is a little men’s grooming concern with a line of beard oils, combs, razors, moustache waxes, and a box-of-the-month club.
So, Corktown. This beard oil’s base is almond oil, which is used in a lot of luxury grooming goods because it’s rich in vitamins A, B, and E, which are all very healthy for your skin. What do we mean by that? They help relieve dry skin, smooth irritation, moisturise, remove dead skin cells, and importantly, don’t block pores. It’s also rich in magnesium, which strengthens hair.
Corktown’s scent is mild—she’ll have to get pretty close to your beard before even realising it’s there. But when she does, she’ll be able to pick out cedar, vanilla, and Virginia tobacco.
