Let’s get this out of the way first: we have no idea what a guitar made with whiskey barrels will sound like. That said, Bushmills Irish Whiskey and George Lowden Guitars teamed up to create three custom guitars made from old whiskey barrels.
The process took three months, mainly because each barrel stave had to be sanded and then glued to other staves in order to have a piece of wood large enough.
The resulting three guitars were then given to singer-songwriter Foy Vance and other artists for their participation at a Bushmills event.
Hopefully, this isn’t the last time Bushmills repurposes their barrels for something cool; after all, we here at DailyXY are big fans of things made from whisky barrels, like these bespoke Muskoka chairs.
